Daughter of Stephen Wood Calkins (1810-1863) and Elizabeth M. "Eliza" (Davis) Calkins (1812-1854).

Married on August 12, 1862 in New Haven, NY, to William Cromack (1838-1922), native of Leeds, England; veteran of the U.S. Civil War (5th Cavalry Reg't New York; 12 Cavalry Reg't New York; prisoner of war captured at Tarboro, NC - released by exchange; and Master Mate in the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. Roanoke, an ironclad steam frigate warship). Employed as an oil well engineer, and served as Chief Burgess of the borough government of Rouseville, PA.
