BOBBY BOWEN, age 57, of Marion, passed away unexpectedly at his residence in the early morning hours of Friday, March 11, 2011. Bobby was born in Burke County, North Carolina on October 14, 1953 to William Carson Bowen and Gladys Rebecca Mashburn Bowen, both of Marion. He was a brick mason for many years. A loving husband, father , grandfather and son, he always had a smile for those he came in contact with. He was a member of Glenwood Baptist Church.
Two daughters, Darla Ann Bowen and Twonia Bowen Duncan preceded him in death. Left to keep his memory, in addition to his parents, are his loving wife of over 40 years, Darlene Medford Bowen, a son, Andy Bowen and his wife Christal of Marion, three grandchildren, Dylan and Trey Bowen and McKenzie Duncan, two brothers, Benny and Scotty Bowen of Marion, two sisters, Debbie Perkins of Marion and Nancy Parker of Rock Hill, SC.
A funeral service was held on Monday, March 14,2011 in the Westmoreland Funeral Home Chapel with Rev Jim
Brewer Officiating. Burial was held in the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery.
