Mildred L. Rooney, 96, passed away March 26, 2017 at Fleur Heights Care Center.

Mildred was born July 22, 1920 in Warren County, Iowa to Albert and Mable Bales.

She retired from Meredith Printing.

Mildred enjoyed being with her family, especially at holidays, Sunday drives, fishing with Arthur and country music.

Mildred is survived by her sons, Clifton (Sharon) Rooney and Marvin (Marti) Rooney; sister, Betty Baker; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur; son, Gary; and her three sisters, Cleo, Alberta and Mary Ellen.

The family will greet friends Saturday, April 1, 2017 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street from 12:30 to 2 p.m. with the funeral service to follow at 2 p.m. Mildred will be laid to rest at Elm Grove Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Unity Point Hospice or Alzheimer’s Association.
