Jerry W. Logue, Sr.

Mr. Jerry W. Logue Sr. ,age 97, of Tennille, died Monday, March 27, 2017, at Washington County Extended Care Facility.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 30, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at First Church of the Nazarene in Sandersville with burial in Washington County Memorial Gardens. Reverends Danny Thomas and Gary Mimbs will officiate. Pallbearers will be Russell Meeks, Randy Lord, Floyd Horton, Chris Smith, Mark Stanley and Sandy Veal.
Mr. Logue was born in Johnson County, the son of the late Algrene Thomas Logue and the late Georgia Della Moray Logue.
He proudly served his country in the US Army during WWII. During war time, Mr. Logue served with Merrill's Marauders, an Army long range penetration special operation in the China-Berma-India Theater. He retired from the Washington EMC after 37 plus years of service. Mr. Logue was an active member of First Church of the Nazarene where he was a former member of the Church Board and Usher.
He is predeceased by his wife Juanita Meeks Logue and his great grandson Brayer Logue.
Survivors include: his sons, Jerry W. Logue Jr. and his wife Carol of Tennille, George Logue and his wife Cathy of Sandersville, and Mike Logue and his wife Gina of Tennille; grandchildren, Andy Logue and his wife Ruthie, Chad Logue and his wife Amanda, Deidre Logue, Kellie Logue and her fiancé Zac Garmon, Kyle Logue and his wife Mary Michael and Alan Logue and his fiancé Lauren Brodrick; eight great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and sister-in-law Janell Logue of Abbyville.
The family will be at the Logue residence Hwy, 15 South, Tennille and they will receive friends on Wednesday, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville.
