James Ewald Gustafson son of Ewald and Gustia (Landgren) Gustafson, was born December 18, 1943 in Sioux Falls, SD. He grew up and received his education in Sioux Falls. As a teenager he worked with his father setting pins at a bowling alley. In 1967 he entered the United States Army and served until 1972.
On January 21, 1971 he was united in marriage to Linda Mae Campbell in Sioux Falls. Jim worked for Dual manufacturing and later Midwest Merchandisers Inc., retiring in 2010.
Jim enjoyed vintage cars, being outdoors with family and friends and was an avid baseball and softball fan, especially for his children’s teams. He will be remembered as someone who would help anyone, and for his caring and loving manner to all.
Grateful for having shared his life are his loving bride Linda, his children, Ted, Darren (Leanne) and Heather Gustafson; grandchildren, Aaron, Jayda (Chris), Taylor and Dylan; great grandchildren Jaylee, Caylea and Summer, all of Sioux Falls; a sister Diana (Robert) Jensen, St. Paul, MN, brother’s in-law, Eugene (Delila) Campbell, Renner, SD, and Wesley (Kim) Campbell, Des Moines, IA; and a host of other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Donald, Roger, William and Ronald; sister Barb; brother in-law, Gene, and Linda’s parents, Eugene and Betty.
