Dee Ann Smith, age 67, of Cynthiana, Kentucky, died Sunday, July 10, 2016, at Johnson Mathers Nursing Home, in Carlisle, Kentucky. She was born August 6, 1948, in New Castle, Indiana, a daughter of the late John and Ruth Castor Garr. Mrs. Smith had worked at the Golden Years Rest Home as assistant administrator and was of the Christian faith.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Lewis Smith; and a son, Albin R. Smith. Survivors include: six daughters, Heather (Gary) Shepherd, Ruthe Smith, Blanch Smith, Polly (Chris) Smith, Molly (Jason) Alcorn and Kimberly Kies; three sons, Jim (Cheryl) Smith, Thomas (Kim) Smith and Frank (Michelle) Smith; one brother, Jon Garr; one sister, Connie Orr; 18 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 13, at the Drake-Whaley-McCarty Funeral Home, officiated by Bro. Jim Caswell. Burial will follow the service in Sunrise Cemetery. Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
