Hazel was born Oct. 1, 1931, in Chatsworth, a daughter of the late George and Bonnie Chester Howell. She was also preceded in death by her husband, George Robert Long; brothers, Frank Howell, Gordon Howell
She is survived by her children, Lonnie and Brenda Long of Dalton, William and Mary Long of Chatsworth, Randall and Rita Long of Resaca, Wayne Long, Rob and Misty Long of Dalton, Joey and Judy Long of Resaca, Chelsea and Brad Townsend of Dalton; sister Montene Blevins of Dalton; 20 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, one great-great-great-grandchild, several nieces and nephews.
Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Hazel Beatrice Long are Sunday at 3 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with the Rev. Andy Lands officiating. Interment will be in Beaverdale Cemetery with Rob Long, Robert Hooper, Gene Long, Brad Townsend, William Long and Steven Bryant serving as pallbearers.
