Note: The 1820 and 1830 US censuses for Nathaniel S Gordon say he was living in New Hampton, Stratford, New Hampshire. (I guess the county boundaries changed.) There is no tombstone for Rufus, but his grandson, Francis Alexander Gordon says, in his family bible that Rufus Gordon and his wife Mahala Jones Gordon are buried there. Rufus' mother Irene Jane Dudley is buried at Bloomingburg Cemetery in Ohio. It is unknown where his father, Nathaniel Sanborn Gordon, is buried, but we know that he died, destitute, 18 Jan 1856 in Homer, Champaign, Illinois. In addition to the children listed here, there were two daughters for whom we do not yet have burial places: Elizabeth J. Gordon b. 1840 and d. 1855 at Bloomingburg, Fayette, Ohio; and Drucella Ann Gordon b. 1857 at Sidney, Champaigne, Illinois and died TBD.
