Donald Lee Smith, 83, of Batavia, passed away Sunday, March 26, 2017 at the Christ Hospital in Cincinnati. He was born April 17, 1933 in Kalamazoo MI, son of the late Cleo and Gertrude Barnhardt Smith. He was married to Jeanne LaRose Dilley Smith, who survives, for 31 years..

Donald retired in 2000 as an Electronic Engineer. He was the Treasurer for roughly 10 years at the Habitat for Humanity in LaFollette, Campbell County, TN where he also made pickups for the Habitat Store. He also taught Sunday School in LaFollette and volunteered at the Food Pantry. He was a member of the Anderson Hills United Methodist Church and was a friend to all.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Lynne (Daniel) Rickard, Mark (Kim) Burford, Michael (Lisa) Dilley and Karen (Robert) Dunn; grandchildren, Emily, Megan, Katie, Reyna, Tommy, Cecilja, McKenna and a great-grandson, RJ.

Donald's wishes were to be cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by E.C. Nurre Funeral Home in Amelia.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Campbell County, TN Habitat for Humanity, 106 E Central Ave, LaFollette, TN 37766.
