Preston Edward "Press" Dulin was born on June 10, 1867 in Joelton, Tennessee [more likely at home out of Joelton and in Cheatham County rather than Davidson County], the son of Sarah Ann (Knight) (Dulin) Adcock (1846–1919) and her 1st husband George William Dulin (1840–1868).

He was married on November 22, 1890 in Cheatham County to Alice Rebecca Matthews (1869-1954), the daughter of William "Henry" Matthews (ca 1845- ) and his wife Aletha Bettie "Lethy" (Knight) Matthews (ca 1848- ).

A farmer out of Joelton, but in Cheatham County on Rural Route 2, he was 77 years old and married when he died at home of uremia on May 28, 1945. Burial was two days later in New Hope Cemetery near Joelton.
