Kay was a spunky, fun-loving, family-oriented Christian. She loved her family beyond measure and surrounded herself with friends she considered as family. Her life was always family first, and she worked as a school secretary to be near her children. She was a member of Riverhills Baptist Church in Calallen, TX, and later a member of West Conroe Baptist Church in Conroe, TX.
Kay and R.J. loved fishing and camping in their RV. Upon retirement they moved to the warmer climate of South Texas residing on Lake Corpus Christi. R.J. enjoyed gardening and Kay enjoyed canning their vegetables. They both enjoyed sharing their bounty with others. And Kay was an avid bowler. After moving to Carriage Inn in Conroe, she became adept in Wii bowling, playing in tournaments, and twice bowling a perfect game.
Kay will be laid to rest beside her cherished husband at Seaside Cemetery in Corpus Christi, TX, with graveside services on Monday, October 1. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to Al Amin Shrine Hospital Transportation Fund, 2001 Suntide Rd., Corpus Christi, TX 78409, who provide free transportation for children and families traveling to Shriner’s Hospitals in Houston and Galveston.
The family would like to thank the staff at Strake Place and Traditions Hospice in Conroe, TX for their wonderful care and support during Kay’s illness.
Jesus said, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” Matthew 11: 28-29
A Graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, October 1, 2018 at Seaside Memorial Park.
