Julia S. Long, age 92, passed away Thursday, March 23, 2017, surrounded by her loving family.

Julia was born in Joliet on June 28, 1924 to William and Elizabeth Sobodas. She graduated from J.T.H.S. Class of 1942. Former Account Executive for WJRC Radio in Joliet, General Manager for Genie Temporary Services and dental assistant for a local dentist. Julia was past presiding officer of Eastern Star, White Shrine and Bethel Guardian of Lockport Bethel #77. Active in Taft Grade School P.T.A. Former member of Grace United Methodist Church and First Lutheran Church.

Survived by her two daughters, Cherie D. (James) Dirker and Terri K. (Edward) Wrobel. Three grandchildren, Sarah (Chuck) Beck, Brian Wrobel and Dr. Lauren (Dr. James McGowan) Wrobel-McGowan. A great- grandson, Ethan McGowan. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Julia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Herbert C. Long; three brothers, Edward, William and Joseph Sobodas; her sister, Elizabeth Bahor; Her niece and God-daughter, Diane Hassert and her nephew, Larry Bahor.

Arrangements entrusted to the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home.
