Harold S. "Bill" Hess, 89, formerly of Willow Street, died at Conestoga View on Saturday, March 25, 2017. He was the husband of Helen (McCullough) Hess. They would have celebrated their 67th Wedding Anniversary on April 7.

He was a lifelong farmer in Strasburg Township, farming into his early 80's.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and attending public auctions.

Born in Strasburg Township, he was the son of the late Clarence and Gertrude (Stauffer) Hess. Harold is also survived by Dale R. married to Rosemary (Witmer) Hess of New Providence, Raymond M. Hess of Willow Street; four grandchildren, Matthew, Randal, Andrew, and Lauryn; two sisters, Mary Wietzel of Millersville, Gladys Kreider of Leola, and three brothers, Glenn married to Wanda Hess of New Providence, Charles married to Janet of Drumore, and Donald married to Jane Hess of Leola. He was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Cari (McCue) Hess, and a sister, Dorothy Dommel.

There will be a viewing on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 from 6 until 8 PM in the Bachman Funeral Home, 7 South Decatur Street, Strasburg, PA, and again on Thursday, March 30, from 10 until 11 AM in the funeral home. The funeral is Thursday at 11 AM from the funeral home with Pastor John Meck officiating. Interment will follow in Willow Street Mennonite Cemetery.
