Troy Darrnell Brooks, 51, of Chambersburg, Pa., passed away on March 26, 2017, at his home, with his family by his side.

Born in Hagerstown, Md., on July 4, 1965, he was the son of Wallace Brooks and Dorothy Lorraine Christian McDaniel.

Troy was a 1984 graduate of North Hagerstown High, where he was a varsity member of the Hubs basketball team.

Troy was last employed by FedEx as a carrier for 20 years, where he was awarded the Purple Promise Award. Outside of work, Troy enjoyed movies, playing basketball, watching the Dallas Cowboys and Alabama Crimson Tide, and spending quality time with family and friends.

Troy and his family attended Chambersburg First Church of God.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his beloved wife, Christiana “Chris” Mickey Brooks, whom he married Aug. 31, 2013; five children, Jordan, Isaiah and Grace Brooks, all of New Market, Md., and Alexia Timmons and Emmett Brooks, both of Chambersburg; three siblings, Ronald Baltimore (wife, Dawn), Barry Carter (wife, Stephanie) and Wallace Brooks, all of Hagerstown; half siblings, and many nieces and nephews. Troy was preceded in death by two brothers in infancy.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2017, at 11 a.m. at the Chambersburg First Church of God, 2230 Grand Point Road, Chambersburg, where Pastor Lawrence Metzler will officiate. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 31, 2017, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202 and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow the service in Grindstone Hill Cemetery.
