Loretta Price Simmons died peacefully in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on Friday, March 24, 2017. She was born on May 13, 1936, in Barrett, West Virginia to Reverend Ernest Carlyle and Pauline Price. She was the oldest of six children. She leaves a large family behind. Her sisters - Lois Salyers whose husband is Emory, and Lorraine Foster - who live in different areas of Loretta's adopted hometown of Richlands, Virginia. Her 'baby brother,' Ernest Carlyle Price II, Ernie, of Bristol, Virginia. Loretta's Aunt, Doris Lane of Barrett, West Virginia. And two sisters-in-law, Doris Price of Sugar Grove, Virginia and Deloris Price Boyd of Richlands, Virginia. She leaves behind a host of dear nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her beloved parents and brothers, Preston M. Price, P.M., of Sugar Grove, Virginia and Paul Price of Richlands, Virginia.

Loretta was married to Bernard R. Simmons for 53 years. She loved her role as wife and mother. Her husband and family were her proudest life's accomplishments. She was definitely the "woman behind the man." Together they built a thriving business that employed over 700 people in Richlands and surrounding areas. It was said by her husband, "She is the wind beneath my wings." The greatest joy of their lives, they often said, were their grandchildren. They were very active in their lives. There was mutual admiration between the generations.

Their surviving children and grandchildren are Bernetta Simmons and her daughter Adrienne and husband Don Freewalt of Atlanta, Georgia. William Simmons and Clara Wysor Dye of Bristol, Virginia. William has three children and a grandson. Lindsey, husband Dane, and their son, Boone Carlyle Ratliff of Asheville, North Carolina. Mastin Simmons and his wife Melissa of Bristol, Virginia. As well as the youngest son, Noah Simmons of Bristol, Virginia. Bryan Simmons of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, with whom Loretta lived and was lovingly cared for until the end. Her youngest, Alisa Simmons-Snapp and husband, Keith Snapp. Their twin daughters, Bridget and Brooke Snapp, all of the Atlanta, Georgia area. Bridget's husband, Savvy Lorestani and their son, Luca. Brooke's three children, Devin Snapp and daughters, Riley and Charlie Stumbo.

Loretta was a charismatic person. She was luminescent. She enjoyed music, especially the crooners such as Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin. Live theater, dancing, and being sociable were her joys. An exceptionally compassionate woman who enjoyed sharing everything she had with everyone. Her love was without condition.
