Charles was the youngest(third) son of Marie (Stein) Cherry and Joseph Cummings Cherry. Born in Washington, DC, Charles grew up in Berwyn, MD. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a U.S. Postal Service employee until his retirement.Charles had two brothers Edward Cummings Cherry (1926-1989) and Paul Herbert Cherry (1922-1980). He was married to Dorothy Josephine Reed Cherry (1919-2001). Charles and Dorothy had no children. Charles was living in Huntingtown at the time of his death.
