Joe Lee Dickens, 52, of Dallas, Texas, passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2017, from terminal cancer. Visitation will be at 1 to 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 28, 2017, at the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Chapel in Waxahachie, with the funeral service beginning immediately at 2 p.m. with Pastor Gary Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in Milford Cemetery in Milford, Texas.

Joe was born in Ellis County, Texas, to Joe Howard and Bobbie Jane Horton Dickens. He was raised by his maternal grandparents, Lester and Annie Mae Roberts Horton, in Milford, Texas, where he went to school and graduated from high school. Joe eventually moved to Dallas where he lived and worked in construction.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Bobbie Horton Dickens; maternal grandparents, Lester and Annie Mae Horton, and sister-in-law, Kim Harris.

Survivors include his brother, Ronnie Harris, of Waxahachie; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
