L. Paul Gallagher, who lived most of his life in the Kansas City area, passed away Sunday, September 30th, at Providence Place in Kansas City, Kansas. Mr. Gallagher was born in Cherokee County, Kansas, and was educated in Columbus, Kansas. He was employed at Phillips Petroleum Company for over 43 years, retiring in 1971 as superintendent of raw and refined products at the Kansas City refinery. Upon retirement, he moved to Sun City, Arizona, returning to Kansas City in 1998. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna E. Lobeck Gallagher, in 1986. He was survived by his stepson, Eugene Ashley ,and his wife, Donna, of Kansas City, Kansas; granddaughters, Laura and Alicia; step grandchildren, Mark, Madonna and Phillip; 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
The Mass of Christian Burial was held on Saturday, October 27th, at the Strawberry Hill Museum Chapel. Inurnment in Sunland Memorial Park, Sun City, Arizona. The family suggested memorials to Strawberry Hill Museum, Marian Hall, Providence Place or Catholic Charities Hospice.
