88, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away March 17 2017. She was born in Ottawa Canada to Ernest and Gladys Williams. When she was eight years old the family moved to Culver City, California. She attended elementary and high schools there. She went to Saint Mary's college in Leavenworth Kansas where she met her husband Lucian Ferguson who was attending Kansas University. After college, they married and spent the next 23 years in the Air Force making some twenty major moves and settling in Mesa Arizona where Laura said I'm not moving anymore. They had three children Lucian, Cecilia, and Ann. Four granddaughters Laura, Vanessa, Jennifer, and Lucia, and two great grandsons, Liam and Owen. After the Air Force Laura continued her teaching at Williams Air Force Base elementary school. She received her Master in Education degree from Arizona State University and was principal at Williams AFB elementary for ten years and retired in 1990. She then volunteered her time to Hospice of the valley and Senator John McCain's office. She then became head of the Religious Education office at Holy Cross Catholic church in Mesa. She also served on the church council. She also served on her home HOA and was in charge of the yearly GAIN day for the Association of some 900 homes. She was active in sports especially golf and swimming.She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Memorial services will be had at Mariposa Gardens 6747 E Broadway Mesa AZ at 4:00 PM March 28 2017.
