BRUCE TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Ralph Sanders Sr. of Bruce Township and formerly of Silvis, passed away Friday, March 24, 2017, at the age of 76. He was born June 16, 1940, the son of Stanley and Thelma (Bahr) Sanders in Marengo, Iowa. Ralph became an Eagle Scout, graduated from United Twp. High School in East Moline, in 1958, and then enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He served his country as a Nuclear Weapons Technician and was stationed in Hawaii, South Carolina and Scotland and served on the USS Simon Lake AS33. He married his beloved wife, Deanne Ranee Glaudel, on March 28, 1959, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Ralph owned and operated D’s Polishing and Plating for over 20 years in East Moline. He was a very active member of St. John Lutheran Church in East Moline and Zion Church in Hampton, serving as a Deacon.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Deanna, of Bruce Twp.; children, Ralph A. (Cassie) Sanders Jr., of Bruce Twp., Paul E. Sanders, of East Moline, Raymond J. Sanders, of Moline; beloved grandchildren, Rebecca A. Sanders, Ashley Frahm, Kayla Hunt, Rachael Debates-Hunt, Paul J. Sanders; great-grandchildren, Isaac, Caleb, Isabella, Allen Jr., Jacob, Allen C., Jasmine, Sonya, Andrew and Charlie Rae.

Burial will be made at Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Memorial Donations may be made to Alzheimer Foundation or the Veterans of Foreign War Association. Arrangements entrusted to the Roth-Muir Funeral Home.
