Funeral services for Mrs. Frank Scott will be held at 3:30 p.m. Monday at Galloway Memorial Methodist church. Dr. W. B. Selah and Rev. John H. Morrow will officiate. Interment will be in Lakewood Memorial Park with Wright and Ferguson in charge.
Mrs. Scott, the wife of Hinds County’s Chancery Clerk, died late Saturday night at her home, 729 Fairview street. She had suffered a long illness. . . .
Mrs. Scott was a member of a pioneer Jackson family and was the daughter of the late Alfred Daniel Galloway and Annie Manship Galloway. Mrs. Scott was a life-long member of Galloway Memorial Methodist Church, past president of Woman’s Bible Class of Galloway Memorial Methodist Church, past president of Junior League, past president of the Matrons’ Luncheon Club, past president of the Elsinor Garden Club, a member of the Pioneer Club, a member of the UCD, a member of the DAR, and other civic organizations.
She leaves her husband, Frank Scott; two sons, Charles A. Scott and Bert G. Scott, both of Jackson; and five grandchildren, Charles A. Scott, Jr., Cela Lee Scott, Elizabeth Ann Scott, Bert G. Scott, Jr., and Victoria Lampton Scott. Two sons preceded her in death, Frank Scott, Jr., died at three years of age, and Captain Walter W. Scott was killed in action in Italy during World War II. Pallbearers are; Dudley Phelps, Manship Phelps, Bill Phelps, Tom Scott, Jr., Roger Cummins, Charlie Gordon, Jeptha Barbour, and Ralph Wilson.
