ROGER G. STONE
AGE 86 YEARS

Roger Gardiner Stone, 86, of Nashua, NH passed away on March 23, 2017. He was born in Brockton, MA on April 30, 1930, son of the late Ruth E. (Gardiner) Stone and Roger E. Stone of Mansfield, MA. Roger is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Betty Mae (Campbell) Stone.

Roger was educated in the public schools of Brockton, MA and Auburn, ME. He graduated from Edward Little High School Class of 1949 and was a graduate of Bentley University.

He served proudly in the U.S. Navy for four years as a Sonarman aboard the destroyers John A. Bole DD-775 and Charles J. Badger DD-657 and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict.

Roger was employed by Electric Boat Company of Groton, CT for a short time and the MITRE Corporation of Bedford, MA for 31 years. Prior to residing in Nashua, NH for the last 30 years; he lived in Carlisle, MA for 24 years where he enjoyed serving as a police officer, EMT and was a volunteer on the fire department. After his retirement he and Betty enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends.

Roger was predeceased by his parents; also his parents-in-law Thelma and Cecil Campbell, his two brothers-in-law John Campbell, Dennis Sweetser, and his sister-in-law Joan (Campbell) Libby and her husband Richard Libby all of Auburn, ME.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son Dale A. Stone, his wife Karen and their daughters Katie and Jessica, all of Nashua, NH; his daughter, Dawn A. (Stone) Duff, and her husband Dennis of Watertown, MA; his son Richard D. Stone, his wife Debra and their daughters Hanna of Stamford, CT, Abby and Molly and their son Dean, all of Somers, CT. He is also survived by his two sisters-in-law, Donna (Campbell) Sweetser and Joyce (Ouellette) Campbell, both of Auburn, ME, as well as one cousin Robert Eldridge of Sarasota, FL.

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation for the professional services and unending support provided by the staff at Nashua Dialysis of Nashua, NH.

SERVICES: There will be no calling hours. All services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to Nashua Dialysis, 38 Tyler Street, Nashua, NH 03060.

Dad has his burial gravesite with Mom in Boscawen. But, Dad & Mom also have a Memorial in Spirit gravestone in Mount Auburn Cemetery in Auburn, Maine, where their family is buried in the Pitman family Lot on Pitman Avenue.
