Richard Loomis of Fargo passed away Thursday, March 16th. He was born in Fargo on May 4th 1941 to George Loomis and Frances (Murphy) Loomis.

Dick, as he was known to friends, grew up in North Dakota and California. He graduated from Fargo Central High in 1959. After high school he spent 4 years in the United States Navy then went on to college at the ND State School of Forestry and Moorhead State University. In 1966 he married his wife Pat, and for 47 years they made their home in north Fargo where they raised their children Tom and Shawna. Over the years Dick made his career as a warehouse foreman for Ed Phillips & Sons Liquor, Northern School Supply, and finally retiring from Velocity Express.

Dick was a member of the American Legion for 51 years. He enjoyed softball, bowling, the Vikings, the Twins, and Bison football. Dick also enjoyed spending time supporting all of his grandkids in their various activities.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Shawna and Steve Korinek; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister Karen Jacobsen; brother Tom (Mary) Loomis.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Pat, son Tom and granddaughters Amanda Loomis and Hope Korinek.
