The funeral for Annette S. Fox of Ladue, a former leader in children's welfare, was held June 9, 1987 at Berger Memorial, 4715 McPherson Avenue in St. Louis followed by burial in B'nai Amoona Cemetery. Mrs. Fox, 73, died June 7, 1987 at Jewish Hospital after a long illness. She attended Washington University in St. Louis, where she received a bachelor's degree in social work in 1936 and a master's degree in 1939. She served an internship at Jewish Hospital. Mrs. Fox was active for more than 45 years with children's rights and welfare. She was chairman of the Missouri delegation for child welfare in 1960 and the national treasurer of the White House Conference on Children and Youth during the administration of President John F. Kennedy. Around 1982, she founded the western office of the Jewish and Children Services to serve troubled youths in west St. Louis county. Surviving were her husband, Dr. Leon J. Fox of Ladue; a son of Warson Woods, and two grandchildren.
