Rodney Jon Davenport, Sr., 72 of Royse City, passed away on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at Baylor Medical Center of Dallas. Visitation will be held Sunday, March 26, 2017 from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home.
Mr. Davenport was born in Des Moines, Iowa on November 6, 1944 to Joseph Andrew Davenport and Evenlyn Belle McKeever Davenport. He married Judith Scott on November 12, 1964 in Denton, Texas. He was a dentist in Greenville for 40 years and of the Methodist faith.
He was a 1963 graduate of Sunset High School.
He is survived by his sons, Rodney Davenport, Jr. and wife, Machelle and Scott A. Davenport and a brother, Kelly Davenport and wife Michelle.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Judith Davenport and brother, Michael Enoch Davenport.
