TAMMY RENEE DOWDING Tammy Renee Dowding, age 40, of Homer died Sunday, January 28, 2007 at her home in the loving care of her family. Mrs. Dowding was born on December 7, 1966 in Marshall to James and Marcia (Summerfield) Shepherd. She was a life long resident of this area and was a graduate of Marshall High School, the class of 1985. Tammy had been employed by the Homer Community Schools, working in the kitchen.On March 18, 1989, she married David Earl-Paul Dowding in Homer.Tammy enjoyed family fishing and camping trips. Some of her favorite camp grounds were Fort Custer Recreation Camp Grounds and the Quality Camp Grounds because of the good fishing at both locations. Her family remembers that, Tammy always caught the largest fish, even out fishing her father with all of his fishing experience. Tammy was also an excellent horseshoe pitcher and could beat all challengers including all of the guys.She is survived by her husband, Dave; son, Steven Dowding at home; parents, James and Marcia Shepherd of Marshall; and brother, Michael S. Shepherd of Marshall. She was preceded in death by a sister, Angela M. Shepherd in 1995; and maternal grandparents, Robert and Laura Summerfield.Visitation for friends will be Tuesday at the Craig K. Kempf Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00. A funeral service to celebrate the gift of her life will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Oakridge Cemetery. Friends may make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society. Assistance with memorials is available at the funeral home.
