Susan was born on October 5, 1952 on her brother’s third birthday in Hamlin, Texas to Reverend Frank Foster, and Betty Hudspeth Foster.

They lived at the time in Aspermont, Texas where her father, Frank, was the Pastor of First Baptist Church of Aspermont. Upon Frank’s death in 1962, Betty moved her family to Abilene to be close to relatives.

Susan was a 1971 graduate of Abilene Cooper High School, having also attended Bowie Elementary and Madison Junior High. She attended McMurry College for one year, and then began working. Her employment experiences included Abilene Savings, West Texas Utilities Company, and Roeder and Forman, CPAs. Susan also worked as a secretary for AISD for 18 years at various locations and campuses, with her last position being at Madison Middle School.

Susan married Mark Hunt on April 19, 1986 in Abilene, Texas, and he helped raise her two children. She was a long-time member of Southwest Park Baptist Church, and developed many life-long friendships at the church. Susan sang in the choir and taught Sunday School, culminating with her teaching children in the children’s department. She loved being a wife and a mother and received a special blessing as a grandmother called “Nana”.

Susan was preceded in death by her father, Frank Foster, her mother, Betty Foster, and her brother Philip Foster.

Susan is survived by her husband, Mark, of Abilene, Texas; her son, Brian (Amy) Stephens, of Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin; her daughter, Stephanie (Eric) Phelps, of Tuscola, Texas; her sister, Kay Frost, of Abilene, Texas; her grandchildren, Maggie Stephens and Ben Stephens, of Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, Harrison Phelps and Haylee Phelps, of Tuscola, Texas; a nephew, several nieces, and many cousins.

The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Jose Vega, and Dr. Victor Hirsch, and the staff at Hendrick Medical Center, and Dr. Robert Collins of U.T.
