Brenda Gail Reese Wallace, 55 of Lenoir, passed away on Thursday, March 23, 2017 after a period of declining health, while at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care in Hudson.
Mrs. Wallace was born May 31, 1961 in Caldwell County to Burl James Reese and Nola Price Reece, both of Lenoir.
Brenda Wallace was a member of East Flat Baptist Church, and was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother , daughter and sister. She graduated from West Caldwell High School in 1979 and graduated from Western Piedmont Community College as a Registered Nurse in 1999. She worked at Frye Regional Medical Center as a Registered Nurse for over 20 years and she was honored as Nurse of the Year in 2007. Brenda also worked at Caldwell Memorial Hospital and Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care for a period.
Brenda will be most remembered for her kind and giving nature, huge heart and her love of helping others. She was born a true caregiver and went above and beyond for everyone she cared for. Her family was blessed with a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and daughter. She loved going to the beach, camping in the mountains, and any time she could spend with her family, was a blessing to her. All who had the pleasure of knowing and loving her will miss her.
In addition to her parents, those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 37 years, Garry Lynn Wallace, of the home, her 2 sons, Jonathan Lynn Wallace and wife Jessica of Fort Campbell, KY, Jacob Ryan Wallace and wife Jennifer of Zionville, NC, 5 grandchildren, Sarah, Skyler, Brianna, Makenze and Emersyn Raylan Wallace, a brother, Joel (J.C.) Reese of Granite Falls, a sister, Tracy Dawn Watson and husband Michael of Lenoir and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family members.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Pendry's Lenoir Funeral Home with Rev. Benny Greene and Rev. Billy Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Lenoir. The family will receive friends for 2 hours prior to the service, from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Pendry's Lenoir Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Lenoir.
Serving as pallbearers will be Archie Wallace, Jerry Wallace, Dusty Bentley, Michael Watson, Chris Watson, Claude Hicks and honorary pallbearer is Jim Greer.
