Brian Gary Carlson was born on March 12th, 1976 in Pocatello, Idaho to his parents, Gary and Kathy Carlson. Our beloved passed away unexpectedly on the morning of Friday, March 24th, 2017.

He was the second of four children. He attended Greenacres Elementary, Alameda Junior High, and Highland Senior High School. As the quarterback of the football team in 1993, he led his fellow teammates to win the state championship. After graduating from high school, Brian continued to contribute to the sporting community by becoming an umpire and a referee. He loved officiating and mentoring the athletes who participated. Aside from his sporting family, Brian deeply cherished and loved his eternal family. He was extremely proud of the talents that he was able to witness in each child, niece, and nephew. He was always there to support his family in their sports games and academic achievements.

Brian also enjoyed golfing, singing karaoke, and hanging out at Buffalo Wild Wings with his friends. He appreciated having a support system of referees, umpires, athletes, community, friends, family, and God.

Brian is survived by his two beautiful children, Seau Lynn Carlson (21) and Payton Blaine McCarthy (18); parents Gary and Kathleen Carlson; sister Jennifer, Shane, Livia, Sofie, and Riley Minor; sister Mandy, Jason, Beau, Dax, and Averi Brower; brother Jared, Hillary, Isabella, Allyse, and Emory Carlson; and his cat, Luna.

Our family greatly appreciates the incredible amount of love and support we have received from this community.

Services will be at 11am Friday March 31, 2017 at the Alameda LDS 2nd Ward Chapel (Walnut & Jefferson). A Viewing will be Thursday March 30, 2017 from 6:30-8:30pm at Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel and on Friday one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will be in Mt. View Cemetery. There will also be a gathering to celebrate Brian’s life at the Tydeman and Optimist ball fields on Friday evening March 31, 2017 from 6pm-7pm.
