Ray was born on August 5, 1948 in the small town of Screven, GA to Mary Nell and Eugene. He graduated from Paxon High School in 1967 and enlisted in the Army shortly thereafter. He was stationed in Thailand and served during the Vietnam War. After the war Ray came back home to Jacksonville and started working at Anchor Glass where he retired this year after more than 40 years of service. Ray started his family in 1978 and raised 2 little girls who were the light of his life. He was able to raise them as a single dad with the help of his parents. Ray has always been known as one of he best men that anyone has ever met. Ray didn't know a stranger and would give the shirt off his back.
