Mrs. Bessie C. Swinea, 93, of Athens, died Monday at the Limestone Nursing Home.
The funeral will be today at 2 p.m. at McConnell Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. James Adams and the Rev. Karl Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Dement Cemetery.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Wesley Thomas of Huntsville and Mrs. Mahlon LeCroix and Miss Frankie Mae Swinea, both of Athens; a son, Louis Swinea of Tanner; five sisters, Mrs. Velna Owens, Mrs. Lorene Roberts, Mrs. Izora Cooley, all of Athens, Mrs. Bertha Loggins of Madison and Mrs. Jo McLemore of Michigan; 18 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
