Lloyd W. Childers
CEDAR BLUFF-Mr. Lloyd W. Childers, 90, passed away Sunday, March 10, 2002, in a Richlands hospital following a brief illness.
He was born in Wisconsin and was the son of the late Robert and Frances Shackelford Childers and Step-son of Florence Lawson Childers.
He had made his home in the Princeton, W.Va., area, having moved to Cedar Bluff three years ago. He was a retired company store manager for Island Creek Coal Company, having worked for them for 45 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and member of the Tazewell County Country Club. He was of the Protestant faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Cooper Childers; two sisters, Verna Criddle and Goldie Allen; and two brothers, Harry Ernest Childers and Troy Childers.
Survivors are: one half-sister, and several nieces and nephews also survive including. Special thanks to all the friends and staff at the Golden Age Retirement Home at Claypool Hill.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, March 12, 2002, and interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton, W.Va
