Erastus Carson, an old soldier, died at his residence in Monterey last Thursday. The funeral was held Sunday at the M. E. church, Bev. J. E. Wilson officiating. He leaves a wife and five children, the youngest being only about four months old. Mr. Carson was a hard-working man, and was granted a pension only about a year ago.
His middle name may have been Ulysses. Some sources say his middle name was Algernon
