Carol Barton was born May 25, 1943 in Sour Lake, Texas to Christine and I.C. “Boots” Wimberly who both preceded her in death.
She was a 1961 graduate of Carthage High School and attended North Texas University.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Carl Barton; son Greg Barton; daughter Carla Hawkins; grandson Corbin Barton; granddaughter Bailey Hawkins; sisters and brothers-in-law Eleanor and J.E. Salter, Janet and Johnny Mahurin; sister-in-law Ann Payne; aunt Joyce Beene; numerous nieces and nephews.
Carol was called Momma “B”, sister Carol and “The Queen” by her closest friends.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune, the Dallas Cowboys, traveling and being with her family and friends. She was so loved and will be missed by all.
