Funeral Services for Wheeler Ann Powell of Elsberry, MO will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Elsberry. Rev. Brenda Cockrell, pastor of the Centennial United Methodist Church in Elsberry, will officiate with burial in the Elsberry City Cemetery.

Ms. Wheeler, 65, passed away Monday morning, March 20, 2017 at the home of her sister in Moscow Mills, MO. Born November 10, 1951 in Louisiana, MO, she was the daughter of Vincent Alexander and Mary Rena Irving Powell. Wheeler worked as a Nurse’s Aide at Pink Home in Troy, MO. She was a longtime member of the Centennial United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Vincent and Mary Powell; one daughter, Rosetta Powell; two brothers: Andy Powell and Irving Powell; and two sisters: Rose Marie Powell and Wanda Powell.

Survivors include her children: Crystal Powell, Julian Powell and Edward Dryden, all of Elsberry; ten grandchildren: Levelt Leffall, Jasmin Leffall, Rahiem Porter, Tyrèck Porter, Dominique Porter, Kobe Porter, Tyra Henderson, Tynesha Henderson, Neosha Henderson and Deontè Hays and four great-grandchildren. Wheeler also leaves two brothers: Gary and Jerry Powell of Elsberry; two sisters: Freda Powell of Moscow Mills and Angelene Powell of Columbia, MO; and her aunt, Helen Webster Crumes, of Elsberry; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
