Born in the Beech Grove area of Barren County, KY October 4, 1914, the youngest child of Rodes and Maud Matthews Davison, she was a lifelong resident of Barren County except for two years when her family lived in Winter Haven, Florida due to health concerns for her mother and sister Clarine, who both died there.
