Kenneth D. Huffman, 90, of Spring Valley, passed away March 13, 2017, at his residence.

He was born February 11, 1927, in Cedarville, Ohio, the son of Pearl Francis and Alice Hixon Huffman.

He was a member of Spring Valley United Methodist Church and was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during World War II. He retired as a history teacher with Kettering City Schools and also taught and coached at Centerville and Miamisburg high schools.

He is survived by a daughter, Janet Huffman Wells, Dayton; a son, Thomas C. (Julie) Huffman, Boulder, CO; a son-in-law, Richard W. Rigsbee, Springfield; six grandchildren: Laura Rigsbee, Rebecca Wells Polsgrove (Nathan), Brian Rigsbee, Christopher Huffman, Daniel Wells (Ashlee), and Jackie Huffman; four great-grandchildren: Savannah Jane Polsgrove, Charlotte Rae Polsgrove, Ralph Franklin Wells II, and Simon Patrick Wells; by several nieces and nephews, and many close friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Jack Huffman, his daughter Jean Huffman Rigsbee, and his wife, Mary Louise (Mary Lou) Stormont Huffman.

Ken will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Memorial services will be held at Spring Valley United Methodist Church on Saturday, March 25, at 10 a.m., followed by a visitation with the family at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Spring Valley United Methodist Church or to Honor Flight Dayton Inc. in his memory. Condolences may be made to the family at www.NeeldFuneralHome.com.
