Austin B. McElwrath, age 21 passed away on Friday, March 17th, 2017 at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, TN.

He was born in Clarksville on June 9th, 1995 to his mother Michelle Robin McElwrath. He graduated from Pine Forest High School in Pensacola, FL and completed his Associate’s Degree at Pensacola State College. He was employed by Publix in customer relations in Florida as well as the Tiny Town Road location.

Austin was beginning to be a part of the Clarksville artist community. He was a very creative person who enjoyed sculpting, art and computer animation. Although Austin’s life was unexpectedly taken by an unfortunate motor vehicle accident, in the end he was able to give the ultimate gift of life as an organ donor, as his heart and soul live on through those he was able to help. He is truly a hero in our eyes.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 26th at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Gateway Funeral Home. Visitation will be held for family and friends on Saturday, March 25th from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. and again on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until time of service. Following the service there will be a family gathering at Tranquility Gardens at 6158 Tolleson Road Adams, TN.
