John was born in Bonyhad, the 3rd child of Heinrich J. Allinger (1888-1979) and his 1st wife, Elisabeth Buchert (1889-1921). His father remarried, and the family emigrated to Canada in 1925, and settled in Regina, SK. From there they moved to Vancouver, BC. John married Lucy Yvonne Cragg on June 1, 1946 in Vancouver. They were blessed with 4 children: Gordon Cragg (28 Oct 1949), Donald Melvin (2 Feb 1952), Margaret Elizabeth (15 Apr 1953), and Heather Jean (24 Aug 1959) Allinger. The family lived in Burnaby where John worked as a postman. Predeceased by his parents, and 3 children, Donald (1962), Margaret Buckoll (2003), and Gordon (2005), John is mourned by his loving wife, Lucy, and daughter, Heather Allinger in Penticton.
