Calvin Henry Brown, 87, in Cloverdale, May 23, 1984. Brother of Alva Paffat of Fresno, half brother of Darrel Brown of Cloverdale, George Brown of Castro Valley, Daniel Brown of Stockton and Hazel Tappin of Stockton. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, dear friend of Anna Monteleone of Cloverdale. A native of San Francisco, age 87. A veteran of World War I, serving with the U.S. Army. A member of Keystone Chapter No. 235 O.E.S., Crocker Lodge No. 454, F & A M, Daly City, the American Legion, and Scottish Rite of Free Masonry. Friends are invited to attend funeral services Friday morning, May 25, at 10:00 am from the Chapel of Fred Young & Co., Cloverdale, with Father Marvin Bowers, Good Shepard Episcopal Church of Cloverdale, officiating. Interment to follow, Napa Valley Memorial Gardens, Napa.

Calvin & 1st wife Leona Helen Huse married in 1918 and had a daughter Helen Marie Brown born 8/5/1919. They divorced sometime shortly after that and she married Paul Elisha Lewis 11/6/1923. The daughter was listed as Paul's stepdaughter on the 1930 census but he called her his daughter on the 1940 census and she went by Helen Marie Lewis then.
Calvin married Francis Ann Gosney Macaulay in 1925, after she divorced her husband Fremont Macaulay who had remarried himself in 1927. Frances died January 19, 1947. Calvin married Selma Elizabeth Nelson O'Connor on July 11, 1948 in San Francisco County, California.
