Funeral service will be 10am Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Central Baptist Church in Kirbyville with military graveside service to follow at Magnolia Springs Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6~9pm Friday, March 24, 2017 at Adams EE Stringer Funeral Home in Kirbyville, Texas.
Born May 1, 1942 in DeRidder, Louisiana to Maurice and Cassie (Griggs) Elder.
He had lived in Magnolia Springs since 1971. Danny began a small family owned portable sawmill business in 1978. This business was a passion of his and eventually became Elder Hardwood, which has thrived for 38 years.
He loved gardening, even saving and planting 70 year old seeds that was given to him by his mother. His favorite pastimes were hunting, fishing and tending to his livestock. He loved his family and will be greatly missed by many.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Elder of Magnolia Springs, children, Shelley Elder Garrett of Vidor, Texas, Kay Elder Odom and husband Lee of Buna, Texas, Danna Elder of Vidor, Gene Elder and wife Michelle of Magnolia Springs and Russell Elder and wife Jimmie of Magnolia Springs, his sister, Susie Knupple of Houston, 9 grandchildren, Robbie Garrett, Randall Garrett, Rachelle Garrett, Jordan Harrison, Beau Manuel, Blake Manuel, Brady Elder, Hunter Elder, Dustin Elder and Bailey Elder Turner and 7 great grandchildren, Addison, Hannah, Gemma, Halli, Blair, Chloe
and Rylee.
