Services of Remembrance for Mrs. Kee will be conducted at 2 P.M. Sunday, March 26, 2017 at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Bro. Kevin Treadway of Somerville officiating. Interment will follow in the Hood Cemetery in the Warren Community. A visitation for Mrs. Kee will be from 12 noon until 2 P.M. Sunday, March 26, 2017 at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville. Arrangements will be provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – Main Chapel of Somerville.
Mrs. Kee was born June 7, 1930 in Fayette County. She was preceded in death by her parents, Andy Thompson and Mary Elizabeth Morrow Thompson. She received her education in the Fayette County Public School System and was married March 15, 1947 to Charlie M. Kee who preceded her in death on September 29, 2014. Mrs. Kee was a lifelong resident of the Fayette County area and was a member of the Somerville Church of God.
Mrs. Kee was a homemaker who had a love for cooking, family and making handmade quilts. She was well known for opening her home with great southern hospitality. If you left her house hungry, it was your own fault. She will be remembered for loving everybody and never meeting a stranger. She spent many years putting her talent into sewing her quilts that she passed on for cherished memories. She was a very Christian-like lady who believed in the Lord and always carried her faith with her.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Nancy Gail Holley; her granddaughter, Amy Weaver; her great-granddaughter, Megan Johnson; and her brothers and sisters.
