Reverend Joe L. Reynolds, 80, of Oakfield, went home to be with Jesus on Thursday, March 16, 2017.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 20, 2017 in the chapel of Hall and Hall Funeral Home. Rev. Robin Chaplin will officiate with interment to follow in the Riverside Cemetery with military honors.
Born May 22, 1936, Rev. Reynolds was the son of the late Joseph Stephen Reynolds and Berta Lou Evarson. He served his country in the United States Navy Seebees and retired as a police officer with the Albany Police Department with 25 years of service. He was also a Methodist minister and served as pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church of Albany. He was a member of the local F.O.P. and The American Legion. He raised, bred and showed guppies, built model military dioramas and played and sung in a gospel group with his beloved wife and daughter.
In addition to his parents, Rev. Reynolds was preceded in death by his first wife, Reva Leanora Reynolds; two sons, Robert and Anthony Reynolds; daughter, Janet Reynolds; step-daughter, Tammy Renee Evers and step-son, Christopher Keith Cyr.
Survivors include his loving wife, Elizabeth Ormsby Reynolds; sons, Joe Lee Reynolds, Jr. and Crystal of Albany, Brian Wade Reynolds and Angie of Leesburg, Guy William Cyr and Sandy of Oakfield; daughter, Jody Price and Daniel of Worth County; 18 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
