NEW YORK—James Alford, 58, of 2033 McGraw Ave., formerly of Bladenboro, N.C., died Friday, June 20, 2003.
The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday in Bryant Swamp Baptist Church in Lumberton, N.C., by Dr. Thurman Everette. Burial will be in Singletary Cemetery in Butters, N.C.
Mr. Alford is survived by his wife, Hattie Alford of New York; a son, James Alford Jr. of Greensboro, N.C.; a daughter, Tonya Elizabeth Alford of New York; two brothers, Leroy Alford of Bladenboro and Arey Alford of Lumberton; a sister, Lena M. Stokes of Lumberton; and two grandchildren.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 8 at Maultsby-Colvin Funeral Home in Lumberton.
