JANICE CLAIR PLUDE-LOWE, age 79, of Grand Rapids, MN, passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Manor House Memory Care after a yearlong struggle with dementia and cancer. Janice was born in 1937 to Edward R. Plude and Coral “Coke” Krahnke Plude in Littlefork, MN. She was a 1955 graduate of Grand Rapids High School and served in the U.S. Marine Corps from October 1955 until September 1956.
Preceding her in death was her father.
Janice is survived by her mother, Coral “Coke” Plude of Grand Rapids, MN; three children, Lea Morris of Stillwater, MN, Mark Lowe of Grand Rapids, MN and Kim Perry of Grand Rapids, MN; 5 grandchildren, Nicholas, Nathan, Travis, Jessica and Brian; 3 great-grandchildren, Jo, Erika and Alex; brother, Walter (Dee) Plude of Duluth, MN; and sister, Nancy Plude Bradley and Deb Niemesto of Lutsen, MN.
The family would like to thank the staff at Manor House Memory Care and Itasca County Hospice for the wonderful care and compassion given to Jan.
A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday, March 30th at Rowe Funeral Home in Grand Rapids, MN from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM with full military honors by the Grand Rapids Area Veterans at 6:00 PM.
