Emily A. Lancaster was age 23 with Rachel Lancaster, 49, in the 1850 District 2, Boone, Kentucky census. Hickerson was age 21; Sally, 17; & Elizabeth, 16.

Emily appears to have been the daughter of Rachel Glacken and James Lancaster, who married in January of 1820 in Boone County, Kentucky. James M. Lancaster is recorded in the 1830 census in Boone County, Kentucky, with a family of 6. Rachel Lancaster is recorded in the 1840 Boone County, Kentucky census, also with a family of 6, 2 boys & 3 girls. The death dates and burial locations of James & Rachel Lancaster have not been found.

Emily Lancaster married Nathan Loar 16 Oct 1850 in Boone County. (Kentucky marriage index) Nathan & Emily "Lore" were together in the 1860 Walton, Boone, Kentucky census with James W. Lore, 9; Mary, 8; Rachel, 6; Matilda, 4; John R., 3; & an infant.

The 1870 census in the same location records them with James, 17; Mary, 16; Rachel, 15; Martha, 13; John, 12; Hickerson, 11; Columbus, 9; Matilda M., 7; Nathan, 5; & Lucy, [Lafiatt?] 3.

Nathan & Emily resided in Leavenworth, Leavenworth, Kansas in 1880 with James, 27; Columbus, 19; Nathan, 15; Lafiatt, [Lafayette W.] 13. Samuel, age 2, was recorded as a grandson of Nathan Loar. (son of James, a widower)

Nathan & Emily were together in the 1900, 1905, 1910, & 1915 state and federal census reports, but Nathan was recorded as a widower in the 1920 Leavenworth Ward 5, Leavenworth, Kansas census. He resided with Matilda Loar, 61, listed as his daughter. Emily is recorded as the mother of 10, with 8 living in both 1900 and 1910.

Emily's husband was a veteran of the Mexican-American War who lived about 96 years. He mustered into Co. D, 3rd Kentucky Volunteer Infantry on 5 Oct 1847 at Louisville, Kentucky. His muster out date is recorded as 21 Jul 1848. He is recorded as Nathan Lore in the Kentucky Mexican-American War veterans list, along with Christopher C. Lore, who mustered into the same company and regiment on the same day. Nathan Loar is recorded as age 22, born in Virginia, in the 1850 Boone County, Kentucky census, with Nathan Loar, 64, born in Maryland.
