Like a breath of fresh spring time air when she walked into a room, that was what Bonnie Nell Rodgers was to many over the years.

Our beautiful loved one passed away peacefully March 14, 2017 at Texoma Medical Center into the arms of our Lord at the age of 88.

Bonnie was born on August 4, 1928 in Kemp, Oklahoma to Bill and Dovie Haddock. She spent her younger years growing up on a wonderful country farm in Liberty, Oklahoma. She was a avid basketball player at Kemp High School where she graduated as salutatorian of her class of five people. She went on to get her business degree from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant, Oklahoma, graduate work at TWU in Denton, Texas and the University of Hawaii.

She was an educator for many years. She taught for a time in Caney, Oklahoma, Nogales, Arizona, Arlington, Texas, and Denison, Texas. Many students passed through her classroom doors. She loved and nurtured them all. She is especially remembered as a business teacher at Denison High School for so many years. She loved being a Denison Yellow Jacket! One highlite of her career was working on a top secret space program in Grand Prairie, Texas in the 1960's around the time they were first exploring the moon and space.

She was Delta Kappa Gamma, president of Denison Classroom Teachers Association and worked at the state level at one point. She also was involved with Boy Scout Troop 605 with her grandsons. She was a member of the Woo Hoo Girls group and Chelsea Park Garden Club.

She met and married the love of her life, Harold Rodgers, from Durant, Oklahoma, after college. They lived in Arlington, Texas for a number of years. He preceded her in death. She never remarried.

Bonnie loved to travel and spoke often of her adventures to Europe, Hawaii, Mexico, and around the U.S. She always loved to dress up in her finest bling! She was a classy lady! She loved her twin grandsons with all of her heart along with many of their high school friends who loved to spend time at Nana's house. She also loved spending time with family and friends that adored her.

Bonnie is survived by her daughter, Pam Manning, and husband, Pat Manning, of Pottsboro; grandsons and wives, Brady and Devin Manning, of The Woodlands, Texas and Logan and Christen Manning of Austin, Texas; sister, Carol Ann Durham, and husband, Kenneth, of Bells, Texas; brother, Don Haddock, of Liberty, Oklahoma; brother, Billy Haddock, and wife, Margaret, of Liberty, Oklahoma; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. We can't forget Macie, her spunky little Yorkie, who followed her everywhere!

Family night will be 6:00-8:00 pm, Thursday, March 23, 2017 at Bratcher Funeral Home in Denison, Texas. The funeral service will be at 10:00 am, Friday, March 24, 2017, at First Christian Church in Denison, Texas followed by burial at Highland Cemetery in Durant, Oklahoma. Pastors presiding over the service will be Roger Spears and Dr. Jeff Johnson.

Pall bearers are Brady Manning, Logan Manning, Kendall Durham, Kent Durham, Tony Haddock, Ronnie Haddock, Dave Kesselman, and David Dillingham.
The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses at Texoma Medical Center and many special caregivers that have cared for Bonnie over the last few years. God bless you!
