Jimmie Rayford Norris, Sr., 85, a resident of Pleasant Garden passed away on Thursday February 23, 2017 at his residence after a period of declining health. Jimmie was born November 5, 1931 in Benson, the son of Vance and Dessie Caudell Norris.

Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Gladys N. Spivey and brothers, Ed Norris, Watus Norris, William Norris, James Norris and Gene Norris.

He worked as a driver with Southern Bakery later to become Sunbeam Bakery and retired from what is now Flowers Bakery as a supervisor. Jimmie was a member of Sheraton Park Free Will Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Johnson Norris of the home, sons, Jimmie R. Norris, Jr. and wife Sandee of High Point, Kenneth R. Norris and wife Crystal of Greensboro, Randy T. Norris and wife Renee of Greensboro, David W. Norris and wife Inga of Woodruff, SC; grandchildren, Heather Norris, Aaron Norris, Kyndall Smith, Akers Oglesby, Noland Oglesby, Jesika Norris, Steven Norris; nine great grandchildren and one great-great grandson.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday in the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel conducted by Pastor Kraig Spivey. Interment will follow in Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 1:00 p.m. until service time.
