PC Keith Palmer, badge number 4157U, resident of the London borough of Bexley, Welling joined the London Metropolitan Police force in 2001 and was based in Bromley borough between 2002 and 2009.
Then he transferred to the Territorial Support Group (TSG), HQs Catford and patrolled all over London. In April 2016 Palmer began service in the Parliamentary and Diplomatic Protection Command.
He was married with one five year-old daughter.

PC Palmer was the force's top "thief catcher" (sic) for 2015.

PC Palmer had previously served in the army--Royal Regiment of Artillery, HQs Larkhill, Durrington, Wiltshire.

Like 91% of police Officers in the UK, he was unarmed when stabbed by Muslim convert Khalid Masood born Adrian Russell Ajao aka Adrian Elms (1965-2017)

Summary of the terror attack:

The horror began at the south London end of Westminster bridge when a driver in a grey Hyundai 4X4 mounted the pavement at around 2.30pm GMT, mowing down the first pedestrians.

He continued along the pavement, ploughing through at least a dozen victims in total, before coming to a stop at the Houses of Parliament where he crashed into railings.

He then burst through Old Palace Yard at the Houses of Parliament where PC Palmer was stabbed

Masood was shot dead by armed officers

Donations to various memorial funds in Palmer's name were closing in on the £1/4-million mark within 30 hours of the sad events.

A relatively rare full police service funeral took place Monday 10 April 2017 first at the Chapel of St Mary Undercroft in the Palace of Westminster and then Southwark Cathedral, London Bridge, followed by private cremation.

At the 2018 Metropolitan Police's Excellence Awards, PC Palmer was posthumously awarded the George Medal (GM) for his "outstanding bravery"The Metropolitan Police Federation, which set up fundraiser, said a 'suitable amount' had been collected in memory of the Westminster terror attack victim who was stabbed while guarding the Houses of Parliament.

Chairman Ken Marsh said focus would now turn to raising money for other injured officers.
The page, which was set up at 9.13am on Thursday, received a total of £736,328 in donations for the family of PC Palmer before it closed at midday on Monday.
'When we initially started it up, we had a goal which was £250,000. It surpassed that and that was absolutely incredible,' Mr Marsh said.
'By law, it's in his name and every penny goes to him – exactly as it should

Mr Marsh said the family of Pc Palmer were 'overwhelmed' by the public's generosity and hailed the 'family' of police who had united nationwide following the Westminster attack.

'Just because it happened in London doesn't mean that the other 42 forces don't feel it the same as us – because this could happen anywhere.'

'The appeal has raised far more than anyone could have ever imagined.
