Obituary
Rev. Enrique Alvarado, 78, of Junction, Texas went to be with his Lord and Savior on November 19, 2020.

Enrique Alvarado was born July 15, 1942 to Geronimo and Genoveva (Aranda) Alvarado in Valle Hermoso, Tamaulipas, Mexico; where he also grew up. Rev. Alvarado began his ministry at an early age, and started preaching at age 16. He received his pastoral license in 1966 and attended the Hispanic Baptist Theological Seminary in San Antonio. He pastored his first church in 1966 in Weslaco, and then moved to the Mision Bautista in Rocksprings where he remained for over 13 years. Over the course of his career he led 9 different churches with the most recent being Goodwill Baptist Church in Junction. He served as a missionary to Mexico for many years and started numerous missions.

Prior to immigration to the US in 1966, he served in the Mexican Army.

Rev. Alvarado loved being surrounded by family and church family. He enjoyed reading and studying the Bible. He was passionate about Jesus and sharing The Gospel to anyone and everyone he met. He loved fellowship and loved to eat different foods, especially home-cooked meals made with love. He enjoyed sharing his experiences as a missionary, and sharing jokes, even the same ones over and over.

Rev. Alvarado is preceded in death by his first wife, Rosa Irene Alvarado; and his parents.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife Rosa Esther Leal; children, Adriana Alvarado Serrano, Enrique (Ricky) Alvarado, Jr. and wife Maria, and Irene Alvarado Escamilla; grandchildren, Ashley Marie Alvarado, Ricky Rae Alvarado, Alina Alvarado, Rebecka Escamilla, and Joshua Razo; four great-grandchildren, Genesis Rose Gutierrez, Serenity Rose Gutierrez, Daniel Rae Alvarado, Arabella Rose Razo; and numerous brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews in the US and Mexico.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at Goodwill Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Junction City Cemetery.

Visitation will be held 5-7:00 PM, Monday, November 23, 2020 at Kimble Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Enrique Alvarado, Jr., Hector Esquivel, Ricky Rae Alvarado, Marco Munoz, Joshua Razo, Roy Nombrano, Emilio Torres, and Alejandro Gonzales, III.

Memorials may be made to Hill Country Preferred Senior Care, Bluebonnet CASA, or the American Kidney Foundation.
